The Hudson Valley will once again host to the 2007 Northeast Small Farm
and Rural Living Expo. The Expo will be held at the Ulster County
Fairgrounds on October 13 and 14. Past Expo’s have attracted over 1,000
people who are interested in learning about small farm enterprises and
improving rural life.
The annual
Expo has gained a reputation of an event that promotes the small farm
industry through education and hands on demonstrations. In 2007, Cornell
Cooperative Extension hopes to continue this valuable educational
experience for the Hudson Valley audience.
However Cornell
Cooperative Extension cannot host this event alone. We are asking your
organization for your financial support. To make this event successful,
the committee is prepared to raise $25,000 to cover expenses. An amount
of $250, $500 or $1,000 would help greatly as we plan for the Expo.
Make check payable to “Small farm Expo,” and mail it to me at 479 Rte.
66, Hudson, NY 12534. In-kind donations are also needed to make this
event successful. If you have a particular product or service that you
would like to donate, contact me for details. Donations are tax
deductible as the coordinating committee for the expo is a 501(c)(3)
non-profit organization.
Depending on the
donation level you select, your organization will be recognized in a
variety of ways before and during the expo. See the enclosed sheet for
what publicity will be provided for different donation categories.
The 2007 Expo planning
committee hopes you will support the Northeast Small Farm & Rural Living
Expo. Enclosed, is a brochure of the event for you to review. If your
organization will support the expo, please complete the enclosed sponsor
form. Please contact me with any questions you may have at 518-828-3346
or seh11@cornell.edu. You can also find us on the Web at
www.smallfarmexpo.org. Hope to see you in October.
